The Global Microbiome Conservancy is an international initiative dedicated to curating the diversity of human associated microbes for future scientific discovery and global health. Through close collaborations around the world, we collect, characterize, and safeguard microbial samples to build a globally representative biobank that supports open and responsible scientific exchange.
Leadership Team
Our leadership team brings together expertise in project coordination, scientific strategy, and global partnership development. Beyond overseeing the core mission of microbiome conservation and biobanking, the team recruits new partner countries, plans and conducts sampling campaigns, and ensures the high-quality processing and long-term preservation of microbial isolates. The team also organizes scientific exchange through meetings, workshops, and conferences, strengthening collaboration and knowledge sharing within the global research community.

Consortium
The consortium is a broad, international network of scientific partners who play a central role in expanding and enriching the collection. Consortium members contribute local expertise, cultural and regional insight, and on-the-ground engagement with participating communities. They support sample collection, ethical and logistical coordination, and the continuous exchange of scientific knowledge. Through this collaborative framework, the consortium enhances global representation within the biobank and drives the shared mission of advancing microbiome research worldwide.
